I am not a fan of cookies or potato chips (I know, crazy!) but when I saw this recipe on Smitten Kitchen, my curiosity was piqued. I love the sweet-salty combo…I simply had to give it a try.
I am not ashamed to admit that I licked the beaters clean. What was I supposed to do, dunk it in the sink and let the delicious batter wash away into the ether? As if!
Very buttery and therefore very rich. A bit too crumbly…don’t think I did anything wrong? Also I couldn’t really taste the potato chips! Whut! I didn’t even crush them too finely so I don’t know what’s up. But I used unsalted, maybe that’s why? I thought if I used unsalted I would have better control of the saltiness. And I thought I did. The cookie dough tasted salty enough to me. But when they baked up…no hint of saltiness, just BUTTER, ALL UP IN YO FACE. Ah. Lovely cookies all the same!
